| How many of you use the following and have not toally modified your PC for overclocking?
1) RAM Coolers/Heat Depletion
2) Hard Disk drive cooling fans (the ones that fit in the 5 1/4" slots below to keep it cool)
3) extended fans or cooling devices.
4) Variable case fans to control fan speed.
Have you noticed any significant changes, bonuses in performance?
Is it worth it compared to the decibles(sp?) of sound from the fans? | |

| Well I use hard drive coolers for my IDE drives. My 2000 box has a bunch of fans and my Linux box has just a few so far. I dont overclock at all; IMO, there is no reason to nowadays. Fans don't cost much, so why not have good cooling. | |

| I've used all but the RAM Coolers, and I don't overclock. The biggest benefit from fans, fans, and more fans has been no lockups from the video card overheating when playing games. | |

| Those Fans are driving me nuts!
One of my Systems, a Dual Athlon MP has 9 of them.
When i fire it up, it sounds like a Jet-Engine! I am seriously looking into quiet Watercooling. I like Performance, but all this Fan noise really bugs me.
Only thing i overclock is my Videocard.
There is Fans that run slower as the Machine idles, and there is quiter Power supplies.
But to build the super-performing "quiet" Computer, there is no other way than Watercooling.
Or is there?

a "Lets Mod my PC" kind of site, but very cool. They actually have fan sound silencers.
