My system consist of a Gigabyte GA-IXE4 motherboard and a AMD 800 CPU. I want to upgrade to a faster AMD CPU and I can if I flash upgrade my BIOS to its lastest version.

My problem is I don't understand how to set the speed jumpers for this board. I've read the manual but its not clear to me how to do it. Can anyone help me with this problem? I've e-mailed Gigabyte 4 times over the last several months, but received no reply.
THANKS,
Kasor

You MB manual take you what is the max CPU speed it can handle.

However, I don't recommend max out the jumper setting because it kill your MB and other component in a matter of time.

Manufacturer will not reply your question because they don't recommend and want you to buy a new one.

A quick search on Gigabytes Website reveals, that hmmm... your Motherboard does not exist...
However, if it is the Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 then it will not support a much faster CPU.
Check www.motherboards.org or go here for the latest Bios:

I think the Front bus is too slow to support a XP1500+ or higher.
