Author Confused by the words of Yoda.

When Yoda metions the Dark Side, is he referring his rear end? I ask because in other references I have heard the posterior region spoken of as "the place where the sun don't shine." Of course, a location devoid of a source of light, e.g. the sun, would be quite dark.

You might be tempted to say that the dark side to which Yoda makes note, is in fact not a place but some form of power, frame of mind or philosophy.

Can this view be proven scientifically?

Please Help....

Confusion say: where once there was dark there is light, where once there is light is dark.

Is there any light? Is light not simply photons impacting on our retinas giving us the perception of "light"? And what makes light, except the absence of darknesses. So, if there is no light, how can there be no darkness and vice versa?

And, given that most humans and "yoda like creatures" have rounded bodies, how can there really be a "dark side" - wouldn't it just be varying degress of light or the absence thereof?

Is it possible to prove that square circles do not exist?

Are they not both polygons??

Nay my good man. Polygons are straigtish, circles are more curvy like.

good try, though Just so you know, the "gon" part of polygon means angle in greek... fat chance finding one of those in a circle

Why circles have all kinds of angles in them. Ifn ye take a set of radii, ye gets all sorts of pretty angles that you can do schtuff with. Did I mention that I got a really neat slide rule recently to do stuff with?

I knew you were going to bring up the sliding rule at some point

From a math purists viewpoint maybe, however, not from a computer geek or programmers viewpoint. You do realise that your computer and video card makes most everything from polygons, circles or squares included. A circle is just a many/infinite point polygon. Check any CAD, paint, graphing program or even photoshop.

Just cause the polygon has so many sides that are so small they look like a circle, it doesn't mean that they are curved.

One of my majors in college was math, so I have to take the math geek view point.

Mine too, that was the path to computers back then. However thirty years of hardware design and programming have let the practical implimentation aspects bubble to the top. Though I still remember when I hated things like PI estimates.

Yeah, I hear you. The good thing about math is that it can be as about as accurate as you need it to be.

I don't think that there is any fear of my Cockatoo doing that at the moment. Its been sipping my beer when I wasn't looking. Just realized that fuzzy taste in my mouth was a pin feather Uck. Damn now its drunk and doing the rooster imitation, time to put it to bed for the night.

no such thing

I saw a game that came out a couple years ago that used elipsoids "which I think are one dimensional circular objects" enstead of polygons "which are one dimensional 3 sided objects".I think that was right.
I don't think the elipsoid Idea ever caught on but the game had some smooth looking models in it even if they did look like baloons joined together.
