System restore problem

I have a computer which was preinstalled by the manufacturer with Windows ME. They supplied a system restore CD ROM on whch there are two BIN files.
The hard drive on the computer has completely failed and I have had to install a new one. I've done FDISK, FORMAT and the SYS command to get the disk up and running. But can I now use the system restore CD or does that require the image that was on the original hard drive? Will I have to get another copy of the OS in order to install the system?
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in anticipation. | |

| restore CD is build for "no brain" situation.
All you need is a HD and boot from that CD, and it will reinstall the OS for you.
Yes, you can still use that CD. Not a problem. Just boot from the CD. |
