| — A businessman has been jailed after co-workers reported an image of child pornography showed up on a screen as he gave a computer slide presentation recently.
James Andrew Smith was in the Mansfield Jail under $300,000 bond after he was charged with two counts of possessing child pornography and one charge of promoting child pornography.
Exel Inc. co-workers told police Smith had just completed a PowerPoint presentation on Sept. 4 when he tried to open another document on his laptop computer. The co-workers said a photograph of a nude young boy appeared on the screen. | |

| reminds me, when we had a user who had just received delivery of a laptop, we set it up for him and he took it home for the weekend, he came in on Monday and complained that some setting wasn't quite right, so we took it off him, and went to correct it, when we opened explorer the history showed up loads of gay porn sites. His bosses were not too happy about this, he didn't actually get the sack there and then, but he 'quit' two months later | |

| I used to work for an accounting firm that had 7 principal owners. It seemed like every week I was working on one of the owners laptops for one thing or another. The thing that surprised me is all the porn these guys had on their systems, plus the websites that cater to married guys looking for something on the side. What amazed me most is they weren't even trying to hide them. You'd find things on the desktop | |

| If I remember correctly, then the UK pornography law relating to the internet states that:
It is not illegal to view pornography however; it is illegal to download pornography.
As certain web browsers cache pictures by default you are breaking the law as soon as you visit the site.
Strange but not as bizarre as the naked sunbathing law thought!

If that's it then it is not properly thought through. Browsers always download pictures into the cache before they can be displayed. The exception to this is pages already visited where usually the cache is first checked for the presence of the web content (this is why pages you have already visited load quicker.) |
