| Anyone in the NYC area attending M$'s TechNet Briefing on Project 2002? (Event Code 1032220476) I'm going today, even though I don't know jack about Project and could care less. I just want the free t-shirt and eval cd. It's at the UA Theater in Union Square (850 Broadway) from 1pm to 5pm. It's too late register though, it's all full. No walk-ins. | |

| Holy crap that was boring. I sat there trying to keep myself awake. I was of course as always the youngest there. I'm just 20. Most people were in there 30's-40's-50's. The guy sitting in the row in front of me was snoring so load that's the only thing that kept me awake. The guy to the right of me was playing GameBoy. The TechNet people were not exactly the sharpest. One lady tried to change directories at a command prompt and typed:
C:\> cd C:\C:\program files\microsoft project
and couldn't figure out what was wrong when an error message appeared and everyone was yelling out "idiot".
However I did get a bunch of cool eval cds. 2k Advanced Server, SMS 2.0 and 4 others. Even a free crappy t-shirt! | |

Crapper. I am jealous ruscorp. At least you got a free crappy t-shirt and some evaluation cds. I attended Microsoft's DevDays (was it earlier this year or late last year?) at the Washington State Convention Center. We didn't get any free t-shirts, but we got eval versions of Visual Studio .NET but big whoop. We already had full versions in our training labs.
At least we got continental breakfast and free lunch for our long six hours. Certain parts of the presentation were boring, but at least informative. However, after lunch you could tell people were get woozy. Heads were dropping like flies and it was all anyone could do to keep from falling asleep heh heh. |
