Have you ever met someone from Examnotes?
|
|
| Deja-vue 2002-10-21, 6:44 pm |
| I can say that i have and i am glad i did.
Months ago, the Discussion came up to meet someplace, but it never took off.
There is the biggest Electronic-Show in the World coming up, the COMDEX in Las Vegas,NV in November.
Would be cool to meet there, wouldn't it?
Tell me if you met some User from Examnotes, and if you have the guts to meet one if you haven't.
I will be in Vegas for the COMDEX-Show.
Some Users come to mind, like Enforcer,(i would pay to meet him), Slinky (which i am going to meet, sooner or later,he lives not too far from me),Ruscorp(talked to him on the phone, don't think he sucks, a very intelligent Guy),wbafrank (Kent,England is a bit far)MrFixit, who made himself rare these Days,Spid (most definately)not to forget Netchild, one of the youngest Members here,Webmaster himself (would be cool) Hooligan ( to down some bruskies with him) and... i could go on.Tech Ranger and Potatoehead would be interesting...and ...hmmm .
What do you think?

| RUSH2112 2002-10-21, 11:25 pm |
| Well I don't do much traveling, but if anyone ever makes it to Pittsburgh, please let me know. I think it would be interesting to meet anyone from here and shoot the crap over a couple beers. | |
| namrak 2002-10-22, 12:57 am |
| Yea, it would be interesting to meet some of the members of Exam Notes but setting up a meeting would be difficult based on everyone's time constraints. | |

If you want to pay for the flights over and accomadation i can make it.
but as others have said, because we are all from a wide area, hell we're from all over the planet, meeting up is very difficult, except for those that are in a similar area. some of the uk guys could meet with other uk & ireland maybe but for the uk guys to meet the US, Icelandic, Bulgarian, Aussie, Kiwi's it would be very difficult.
| MistyRing 2002-10-22, 6:24 am |
| Could be interesting. I wonder how many fights AMDwizard will get himself into in the car park? | |
| enforcer 2002-10-22, 6:34 am |
| ah misty why don't you be the one to welcome him, throw your arms around him and give him a nice big glasgow kiss | |
| MistyRing 2002-10-22, 6:40 am |
| might just do that. | |
| NetChild1985 2002-10-22, 7:37 am |

Btw I'm wondering why in this forum there isn't any other Bulgarians except me. It will be great to meet someone here.
| HOOLIGAN 2002-10-22, 4:12 pm |

| I won't be getting out to Comdex this year. I think it would be great to meet some of you from this forum. Since I am in Orlando area, lots of visitors make it here. I work right across the street from Sea World so if anyone comes for a visit to the Orlando area I would be happy to meet them. I don't do Disney though. LOL | |
| ruscorp 2002-10-23, 10:49 am |
| This is cool. I am defiantly "down wit dat". However I don't think I can make it to Vegas. | |

Deja, you old dog!
In light of that revalation maybe we should change the question to "Anyone slept with anyone from examnotes?"
| Deja-vue 2002-10-23, 12:50 pm |
| LOL !
No, Pavlov and me met on a pure professional base. We had some good Lunches, very good conversations, and i enjoyed her company. Soon we will meet again.
She helped me complete a Job on a Exchange Server, that i couldn't have done without her.
(Exchange 5.5 is just not my thing).
Pavlov is the one of the most knowledgeable
IT People, i have ever met.

| I meet one of our members everyday, unless he is out of the country at meetings. He is one of our newer members, but those who have had info from him, know that he's the AD man. He is my Director, and the actual person who employed me this month. As I am now in the Weinstrasse area, someone give me a PM and lets see if we can meet up one weekend. I certainly will put out a post a week or so before I go across the channel or the pond. As well as the members mentioned by Deja, I would also like to meet Jeff_Black and I owe TW2001 a beer for pointing me to this exciting job opportunity. | |

| It wouldn't hurt to meet anyone from here. If we've been an honest and helpful group. We know each other from our inputs and writings in all these given forums | |

| 2lazybutsmart 2002-10-23, 10:07 pm |
| In my case, it's different. I've met the bulk of EN members. Some I've appreciated, some i've not. But they're all memebers, and members they remain. | |
| Slinky 2002-10-23, 10:42 pm |
| You've met the bulk of the 122,000+ registered members here? Yikes. | |
| 2lazybutsmart 2002-10-24, 12:38 am |
| oh yes i have Slinky. i've met most of 'em. Looks wierd, but that is the case. any questions? | |

disgusting. i never thought she'd get married by a respectable person. anywayz, she died you know. so we're not supposed to talk about dead people. not to include the fact that a senior memeber of EN was her honey.
| enforcer 2002-10-24, 10:19 am |

31 years wow! | |

| I live in Pennsylvania in Pocono area. There are several skiing resourts in our area, it's only 90 minutes drive from New York city, so if anyone is interested in coming over here to ski or snowboard, we can get together this winter. | |

| Fair enough,,
who ever is lower in the table gets the first pint in.

| ...Deja great idea but sadly we are indeed placed and spaced in every corner of the globe and then some.
I honestly think that we could/should hold an annual ExamNotes convention he-he, maybe even donate a small sum of money toward a kitty for the less fortunate to cover travel expenses etc.
I just missed out on meeting a fellow member from this wonderful site, Roty aka Whetstone who happened to be staying in my hometown of Doncaster South Yorkshire for several months.
My roots are back in England but I'm currently enjoying a long holiday/vacation in LA.
The one thing I miss terribly is my beloved football team Liverpool, mind you I'm pleased to report they are indeed sitting pretty at the top of the Premiership league.
On a final note Mr Hooligan it looks as if the Arsenal faithful will have to hand that premier league trophy back to it's rightful owners grin).
Yup the first round is definitely on you(grin), I make that three defeats on the trot and counting, just a thought maybe a pint for each and every defeat.
|
| Well I live in Las Vegas so I guess it is easier for me to drop by Comdex.
But I think it would be cool to have an Examnotes-con. You know that is pretty much Defcon started out. Many people with like interests met in Las Vegas and every year it grew until it became a worldwide event.
So Yea Deja I think it's a really cool idea.
| jeff_j_black 2002-10-27, 10:33 am |
| The thought of regional chapter meetings is a good starting point or hooking up at shows, when possible. Maybe a seperate board here for making arrangements?
I for one would relish meeting any of the regular posters here, it's quite a decent club.

what a great weekend. 4 pts clear
arsenal 3 defeats in a row. (games with out a defeat record. who knows what the most consecutive number of defeats is?)

| Well hell, I am up for it, I live in San Antonio TEXAS and if anyone is ever down this way, let me know, I can give you the $76.50 tour of San Antonio. | |

| Comdex works for me. where?
I dun have fa' ta goh! All this "footy" talk and I'm forgetting how to speak our improved language.
Worked in Singapore for a while. There were people from all over on the project (but only one yank). All you could hear were the aussie vs brit vs kiwi footy and rugger debates.
Oh, and who could hold their pints best! Seems like they were often still mumbling about it while I carried 'em to their cabs!(aka taxis)
hey, is that word spelled "pommy" or "pawmy" or "pah mi" or what? I never understood 'cause no one ever used it except after maybe the 4th pint.
Pints in Vegas? Whose on?
If ya stand me a pint, maybe I'll find an ol' geologist that can show you the awesome desert & redrock canyons just about an hour outside LV.

| This whole discussion sounds pretty interesting.
How about a NorthEast or New England Chapter that could meet up here in the Boston Area? The Hynes Covention Center or the Boston World Trade Center or The Boston Expo would be great locations.
Just some ideas | |

| I got someone on this board a contract teaching gig. Unfortunately, the company went under right after that and I don't know if he got his money or not. My intentions were honorable though. | |

I think Arsene might be up for one this year, the way his players keep getting banned, now bergkamp is in trouble for stamping. when will they learn? |
