| Looks like Compaq is trying to anticipate even the dumbest questions.

That one goes under Code ID10T

| Anybody who intentionally buys a Compaq has issues to begin with anyways. And if someone asks stupid questions like that, they shouldn't even own a computer. | |

| What I find funny is a question normally doesn't end up as a FAQ unless it's FREQUENTLY asked, right? If that is a frequently asked question, well, you know... | |

Ah yes, Boulware5, how true and how sad, but nonetheless a fact. I would wager that it isn't a problem solely for Compaq, that every call center and help desk in the country has had it asked, and every techie groans and winces, but, hey, someone is paying us money to solve these problems! (He said sarcastically, because the icon doesn't want to work.)

If this is really a "frequently asked question", then some of compaq's customers are morons.
You have gotten old and calous.
I don't consider it a dumb question. It still gets asked everyday by new computer users. In the eighties we used to include a sticker with our software with instructions to place it on the space bar. I can testify to some of the other supposed fables actually happening like receiving a xerox copy of a data floppy inplace of a copy of the disk.
New users tend to be quite literal because of fear of doing something wrong or appearing stupid. To some of us it actually has that affect. |
