Author GMT Time Zone incorrect?

I live in the GMT zone but I've noticed posts I make are timestamped 1hr ahead. My time zone settings are correct.

No big deal but just curious.

I would just like to confirm that MistyRings observation on GMT time zone is correct.

I know in the UK we turn the clocks back in the winter and then back again in the summer - if this is not the case in the US this would be where the confusion lies!!

But really I don't care what time it says I posted at, as long as I can post!!

They do exactly the same in the US. Here we are only GMT in winter. In summer we become BST.

I know a bit about this as I used to work for a large multinational where there was a lot of international collaboration. Around the end of Oct/start Nov people round the world always used to miss conference calls because so many countries move to Daylight Savings Time over the space of 2 or 3 weeks.

Was a great excuse for missing meetings actually!
