| I'm trying to setup instant internet sharing for 56k modem user, but so far I haven't gotten any luck.
I have 2 computers. Both have windows 98 SE, except 1st one has external modem connected to comport on SMC Barricade
7004BR and 2nd one has an internal modem.
I've tried to call tech support but was not helfull at all. It was not that easy as they said " connected all equipment , turn on power and ready to go "
I also tried ICS feature of windows 98...but could not work either. I got the ICS installed, but couldn't get the client to connect to the internet.
Both pc can see each other on the network.
Any tips or advices are really appreciate.

| you tried to release and renew the ip address on the client pc?
plus make sure the client is getting its IP address from dhcp
thats should be all u need to do

| when you set up the master for ICS is gives you an option to create a floppy disk. Did this complete successfully ?
Make sure the master is specified an IP address. What browser are you using.
If it is IE, make sure u tell it where to find a connection in the IE Options -> Conections tab.

I've spent so many hours trying to get this thing work and the result is nothing. I probably need extra info from you. Thought I already got it work through 98 for now, I will not let this stop me. It still disturb me when ever I think about it.My main reason to purchase this Barricade is that I want to setup ICS through dial-up modem. ( the monthly fee for DSL is still high, plus I don't want to stick for a 12 months contract)

Thanks for your help. I also went to www.firingsquad.com for more instruction.
Now, with 98 ICS I can enjoy surfing my favorite site while other enjoy theirs until I get the Barricade to work
