What type of Unix do you want to install? Some of them can be installed on x86s. Once you decide, try posting in the Linux/Unix or Solaris forum and you should get a better response there then you would on the general forum.

The three most popular *nix distributions for x86s are Linux, BSD and Solaris. I suggest starting out with Mandrake, RedHat or Caldera Linux. The easiest way to install these is to get the CD(s), boot off them, then follow the installation programs.

If u decide to use Linux Mandrake or Redhat, then I am sure you can install them as a dual boot system with Windows 9x/2k

The steps to do this are in the install process so if you boot from the cd and follow instructions, it will all be explained. I used to run Win98 with Mandrake 7 and Win98 with Turbo Linux (just for the hell of it )
