What happened is horrific and unbelievable. At first when someone told me I thought it was a joke... alas it is true. I give my condolences to everyone in this tragedy. I hope they catch those bastards responsible.

This is only the beginning!

Wait until the recovery period and dig out those (didn't make it)....

The ground zero is a mess, just like war.

And I consider this is active WAR to U.S and I will fight to all terrorist, and torture their soul ... no mercy.

Just wanted to let you folks know the lines to donate blood here in St Louis are a Block long. Some places are giving wait times of up to 3 hours. No one is complaining or getting out line. We do what we can.

Kasor I agree with you completely the pay back on this is going to freak out the rest of the world.

Once again, the americans are suspecting muslim terrorist groups, Osama bin Laden is the main "suspect" at this time.

Are all your Friends and Family OK?? I was on Freaks board and realized you are in NY. I hope everything is OK for you. I can't imagine the devestation other that what I have seen on TV. It has to be something out of Dante's Inferno.

Azam It is appearing more and more likely it was Bin Laddin. If so there will be hell to pay. I hope everything is alright with you also.

I have an uncle who works a couple blocks from where the explosion occured and he's ok. It took a long time to find out if he was ok, so yes, the phones are down a lot.

I am glad to see that this thread has gotten some response. I too am sickened that something like that has happened. Hopefully, this will be a wake up call to out govt. to tighten up and not think we are so invulnerable. I, as I am sure others on this board, are or have served in the military. I was in the Marines myself and I would be more than happy to be recalled to active duty to fight. No one should ever want to go to war, but if there ever was a reason to go, this would be it. Didn't mean to go on so long, but I am pretty fired up about the whole thing.

You know what saddens me the most other the life's lost. The fact that so many people in the middle east are celebrating this tragedy. I see kinds cheering and people celebrating as if it were one big party. That is also what scares me, I mean kids being raised to hate us and think what has been done is correct. These people are people who wouldn't hesitate to continue to do what has been done and sacrifice their life's as kamikazees and what not to murder other people. We never celebrate when we see people in their nations pass tradegies and go through wars. Their way of life is absurd and a discrace to humanity. It's ashamed to, because there are plenty of good hearted middle eastern people who will now be stereo typed more than ever because of the actions of a few crazy individuals.

I think something for sure needs and will
be done this time. They chose to do it now
no more playing games with these creeps lets
take care of this now for good. God bless the individuals and their families.

That is what almost stunned me the most - the fact that people and young kids can see this event as a reason to celebrate, when innocent people die - regardless of your relegion or beliefs, you should mourn the deaths and have compassion for those left behind. There is so much hate in this world.

I am deeply sorry for the great country that is America.

We need to wait before we fight back. When your angry you have no control, and that leads to more problems. These hijackers planned this out, the US need wait an cool down. Then when we are at peace, we can then plann a pay back.

Only a few members in the midd east are bad and hate US.

12 people physicaly changed the world, yesterday. That's my guess, three in each plane, that's small number, compaired to the number of good people in the world.

Let's not let hate control an rule the world, remember 1941.

You have to wonder if all these actions are these actions are just parts of a bigger masterplan.. I mean I don't think they just crashed into the buildings to vent. They must have something bigger in mind and I'm thinking that this was the beginning of it.

Actually, I used to live in NY for a couple of months, I had a cousin and a friend who worked at the WTC. Lucky for them, they had no work that day.

Also, I wish the innocent ppl all the best, may god help you.

The persons and the organization behind this dastardly act must be completely "formatted". That is to say: completely eradicated,, no mercy.

I think this is part of a bigger strike, it has been too cleverly planned to be a one off attack. It is very worrying how easily America was taken to its knees by a small band of terrorists, a lot of changes internally must be made to secure America against other attacks. I live in the UK, and have had some experience of terrorist attacks caused by the IRA, but none of their attacks could ever amount to this much distruction.

I think by now George Bush has alread passed orders for the response and these are being carried out now, particularly by the SAS and Navy Seals. When these orders are made public, it will already be too late for those terrorists involved.

My best to everyone effected byt his tragedy.

hi Everyone,

I can't help thinking that the destruction was far greater than the terrorists intended. The aircraft were aimed for the higher floors of the buildings...

surely if they'd intended maximum damage and caualties they'd have aimed much lower?

And it's likely now that most countries in the world will be behind the US and possibly Nato taking action, no-one, not even China, can surely object?

The terrorists must know that they'd have no-where to hide after such an attack.

Yes they wanted to cause some damage and kill some people but I think it all went tragically much further than they intended.

Maybe this can lead to a turning point where everyone works together to erase terrorism from the world.

Regards
Peter

I agree with Peter, when the Real IRA bombed Omagh, they intentionally misled authorities as to the location of the bomb and led innocent shoppers - women and children, protestant and catholic right into it, killing dozens of people.

I know it's not on the scale of the WTC but the impact of this massive attrocity brought the whole Irish community together both North and South of the border. It was the turning point which brought potential peace to N. Ireland and will always be seen as such.

I hope some good will one day come from this.

My thoughts are with you all.

How can you say that they didn't intend this.. I mean I'm sure they knew what they were doing. The whole building did eventually crumble to the ground. They intended more than what they got, they missed the whitehouse and other targets.

I agree, this was a highly organised attack. The exact floors were chosen, so that people at the top could not escape in time and firefighters below could not get to the fire in time.

As it was planned, the majority of people in those towers were not supposed to live.

It is very sad to see such a thing happen. Terrorist are so stupid! They really believe what they have done is a good thing!

I am so angry, I dont even want to hear or see anymore of the tower news! All I want to see is JUSTICE!!!!!

So many innocent people were hurt! Doing that didnt help anything, not one thing!

The scary part is that this is just the beginning! Once we strike back, this is WAR!

War, what is it good for!

US now has the backing of NATO, Japan, Australia, Russia, UK and many others (including some arab countries) and i think we all know, when the US knows who did it, these terrorists will run and hide and live in fear until the are destroyed.

I am assured I speak for all my fellow Australian members and guests, when I say our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of the WTC and Pentagon attacks and their families, and to all the volunteers and rescue personnel we extend hope and many thanks for their tireless efforts.

This is a sad, sad time for the world.
We will never be the same again.

I am even more shocked to see on the news Iraq's dancing in the street, celebrating the attacks, destruction and death of so many innocent Americans.

I think the most worrying thing in the news now is the Muslim's stating that if an attack is made on Osama bin Laden then they will stick up for him and fight back. Particularly worrying as most countries have a muslim community, I know England has many.

I, too, am sickened by what has happened here in the United States. This was a carefully planned attack. To think that our borders have been open to welcome anyone who wishes to strive for a life of freedom may change is horrible. To realize that these evil and suicidal terrorists got their pilot training right here is frightening. That they may have tried on the very first day our airspace was re-opened to continue the attack is also very scary.

From coast to coast our nation stands firm together. By far, the greatest show of patriotism I've ever seen. Such a shame that it was such an awful tragedy that brought us all together.

We must fight back, but we must be equally as patient as they were in the planning. It is never acceptable to eradicate innocent lives.

God bless all who were affected by this horrific tragedy.
stefanw

2001-09-14, 8:36 am

Agreed. I think now the day of morning is over, the US government will now take action, especially seeing as the are using a UK airstrip and have two air craft carriers in the gulf. Whatever ever it is they have got planned, will happen soon. I beleive the government knows who did it, but need to keep it quiet so they have the upper hand.

God Bless America & Pray for those will be in the heaven.

Lucky I am far away from it this time, but next time, might be in your area.

I think it is time for WAR, "neu" them if we had to do. or make the whole region and people disappear forever...

No more B.S Terrorist

I agree the what the major said, "This is a coward action." and those people called this "holy", and I think they missing the world "S**T"...

This is getting personal, few of my friend got hurt on these incident and I don't like it.

What amazes me about Americans, is that they are so patriotic. When I was in Houston recently I saw flags everywhere. When this tragedy occured, I watched the news coverage and saw the congress or senate or which ever it was singing "God Bless America".

My point in saying this, is that if anyone can overcome a tragedy like this, it is Americans. They ban together creating a country of great strength that cannot be broken.

I am very sorry to hear of the tragic loss, but through the unity that you are famous for, you will be able to find these guys and make them pay the price for the International upset they have caused.

I am so glad to hear that most of you are safe and accounted for.
stefanw

2001-09-17, 7:21 am

I know what your saying, but it is not just Americans that would pull together, it is the whole world. We are ALL fighting throught this crisis together. It is like the whole world is 1 big team agains the terorists.
