NVIDIA GeForce2 MX

| Has anyone ever tried to install an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX graphics card on an NT machine?
I have installed one which is working fine, but when I tried installing another into an almost identical machine, the system just hangs.
The only difference in the two machines is that the second one has a sound card - which I tried removing, but it made no difference.
Any help appreciated...this is my first week on the job, so I'm still kinda finding my feet!
Thanks. | |

| Its an NVIDIA GeForce2 MX-200 (32mb) from JetWay, if that helps. | |

| Have you applied the latest NT service pack? | |

| Check their website to see if there are any compatibility issues with that card/brand in particular.
Also, do as ccie-to-be indicated and see if you have the latest service pack installed. That would be SP6a.

| Have you tried using the WHQL certified NT reference drivers from NVIDIA's website to see if you can get it to work using those as opposed to the drivers provided by the manufacturer of the card?
I have had good success in the past fixing similar issues on various Windows OS platforms using the WHQL certified reference drivers provided by NVIDIA.
As was stated previously, make sure you are at the latest NT service pack level (6a) as well.
Good Luck. Let us know if you were able to resolve the issue or not | |

| Spid is right. I have one of the cards at home and it was a XXXXX to install until using the latest drivers from NVidia's web site. (i think version 5)This was also using service pack 6, with a sound card, pci modem and netcard also in the machine. It all worked well in the end. |
