I have been interested in learning some java and c++. Problem is I only have experience with VBscripting and HTML. My job does not call for these skills but I want to up my value. Can someone give me a good starting point. I am a do-it-yourselfer, what books should I buy?

Get some good Java/C++ Compilers.

And then check out the following sites...

http://devcentral.iftech.com/default.php
http://jars.com/
http://code.box.sk/

There are millions of more sites which I can tell you, but it is better to search google for some tutorials.

Have Fun

Go to: www.bookpool.com and search for Java or C++ books. You will find the lowest prices in the market there.

Good Luck,
