ok PalmHeadz... i am on a quest to find good, usefull tools to use on a palm in an IT setting. i'm thinking about Trouble Ticket-type software, project tracking, databases for accounts/passwords for systems, databases for system specs, diagramming tools and the like. i think you all know what i mean. i think i found something in the network infrastructure realm but need to dig up the links for it.

i want to know what you use, have seen, have heard of, and good download places.

thanks fer yer time!

The only experience I have with PalmOS comes from using my boss's PalmPilot a few times. IMO the pocket PCs are so much nicer for this sort of thing. NetBSD's been ported to a few of these, so I think that's the way to go. Just imagine having a Unix box you can carry around everywhere, especially if you get one of the ethernet (wired or wireless) cards that fits in a flash slot.

ok, sure, cc2B.. that's all fine and good but i have a visor and the company uses visors (Handspring Visor running PalmOS). i appreciate your input but it's currently not applicable. and yeah, a Peguin in my Pocket would be neato but... bleh @ u!

i really thought there'd be some people with Palms that would have some input... hmmm.

I can't help you out with specific progs (those Visors are probably too underpowered to run *nix ), but I can say that having a NIC would be a real plus. I'm sure there are apps out there to do all the tasks you listed. I'd also recommend a protocol anylyzer if you can find one.

yeah. i hear ya buddy.

thanks for your thoughts. i really can't believe no one else has any input though! i think my boss has some demos he may have looked at a while back. i need to talk at him about it... i was trying to be all proactive and stuff and come up with my own resources.. oh well.
