Hi,

I'm trying to install Win2k Prof onto a few clients via RIS.

I've installed RIS on a server, I have a DHCP, Active Directory and DNS server running... Now when I boot a client computer from the floppy i created with RBFG.exe, it appears on screen as:

DHCP.....
No responce from server
Press any key to reboot

Now I checked the DHCP server and it seems to have obtained an address, so does anyone know whats going on ?

Oh BTW, I am using a nic which is supported by the RBFG floppy

Hi adam,

The RIS server is multi-homed, and as I know now, RIS does not support multi-homed PC's !!!

I'm installing SP2 at the mo, so if that does not work, I'm going to have to take 1 NIC out !

dammit

I've installed SP2 and took one of the NIC's out of the RIS server, but still, when I restart the client machine,

DHCP....
No Reply from a server
Press any key to reboot

But the client machine is getting an IP from the DHCP server.
DHCP, Active Directory and DNS are all in 1 computer. RIS in installed onto a seperate computer, which gets its IP from DHCP

Is there anything I have to do to make the DHCP server point to the RIS server when giving out IP's ?

God damn it !!!

I don’t know anything about what you are talking about, but you said that RIS does not support muit-home PCs, ok so can you remove that from the PC. You said something about removing it from the server. Is this an option? Like I said, I don’t know anything about it I am just trying to help.
