| They did a good job for you. I would get the A+ logo on the page somewhere, though. Good luck in your job search. | |

| Hey Don... I've made some comments... and modified your resume so you can download it.
1) HEADER-Make your name BIGGER font than the rest. If the rest of the font is 10pt...
2) Put the TITLE INFO on top... OBJECTIVE, EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION (also separate the CERTIFICATION SECTION) Make it BOLD and 1 PT font bigger than the rest. This also saves valuable space and makes it easy to read.
3) REFERENCES - keep that on the second page. It doesn't need to go with your resume. You can just put "references available upon request"... but that is just assumed. You resume shouldn't be more than 1 pages since you don't have work experience or education that justifies more that a page.
4) Leave the given stuff out quote: the curriculum was divided equally between laboratory and theory
5) It's obvious that your experience is very limited (only schooling/not substantial work exp) You might want to play with putting the resume in this order, Objective, SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE (or switch WORK EXP BEFORE EDUCATION)
6) Also, like Pavlov said... Put the A+ logo somewhere. | |

| Leave the objective off. We all know that everyone wants to find a job "in a challenging environment with a fast paced company that will allow me to use my skills and give me training and the chance for advancement. I'm a team player." I've been reading resumes for the past 2 weeks to fill the MIS position that I'm leaving. Everyone has some variation of this and to be honest, I find it nauseating. My advice to you is to make friends with someone in the business who will give you a break. I had practically no experience and no certs when I started. I can't reccommend that this company hire someone without experience now. Too much down time to bring you up to speed. Hands on is SO important. At least be honest on your resume. That'll be refreshing! | |

OBJECTIVE
Looking for a cush technical job that will pay me a lot. Show me the money!
When I was in college... every single resume that we had was something like..."Seeking challenging employment that will allow me to use the worthless theory in a professional intriguing technical environment."
Hell the more big $25cent words the better!
That's what mine basically said. Yet nobody took me aside and gave me the good advice to take that crap off... but as I look back at my old resumes... it's like looking at an old picture of yourself wearing bellbottoms and a mullet... thinking you were the s.hit! |
