| Use MS Word ... It has Built-In Resume Templates. Plus most headhunters & recruiters want resumes in MS Word Format.... though you put your resume on monster.com, dice.com in .txt format.
If you don't like Word's built in template... then go to the library and get a book... there are tons of resume advice books.

Chunder... can you explain how to do that...? Can you post your resume on google? I've never done that before... but I'd like to learn...
I've used computerjobs, hotjobs, headhunter.net, dice, monster, telecomcareers, brassring. Of those... If you just posted your resume on dice or monster, you will do well... I didn't like flipdog because you couldn't just cut/paste a resume.
When I was job hunting... about 90% of my calls from headhunters/recruiters came from monster, 4% from dice, 3% computerjobs 3% other

| Chunder..
Which ones work best for you? or which ones are not as well known that work really good for you?
I think compterjobs and dice are really great tools that are not really as well known.
Monster... is the king... everyone knows about that one...
is there another that has really worked for you? (that isn't hotjobs, monster, telecomcareers, brassring, compterjobs, or dice?)
THanks! | |

well, i have had some hits from both monster and hotjobs. not too terribly much though, really... but then, i'm not actively looking and i the market has been pretty weak here and not planning on relocation so, take that for what it's worth. and some of those sites you mentioned don't really have much support for this area.
ah, i almost forgot one that should have some potential, techies.com. they are actually a decent all-around tech site with tips and whatnot on careers.

| Thanks guys. I'm fairly new in job hunting. When me and my family migrated here in Texas, there was a job waiting for me already. I haven't "tested the waters" in job hunting for almost eight years, out of gratitude to my present employers who are good to me. The pay is not that bad, but working for a small company, it lacks the benefits accorded by major companies. I have passed the A+ 3 weeks ago, and tackled the Network+ yesterday. I got my Server+ out from the credit from my Intel certification (my company asked me to take it so we may get to Intel's Premier Provider Program). I'm hoping I will find a greener pasture soon for me and my family (wife & 2 young boys), but i'm kinda in a bind because of my good relationship with my current employers. I think I need to see a psychiatrist! | |
