How to Install SP2 with GPO ??
|
|
|
| Hiya,
All the workstations on my companies network are Windows 2000 Professional, all controled by a Win2k advanced Server. I want to install Win2k SP2 onto all Win2k clients machines via Group Policy and .MSI files. I've never done this before, and I don't have a clue how to , can someone help me in telling me how to first of all, create the MSI file, and also how to distribute it through the GPO ? Just point me in the right direction and I'll probably figure it out !
ThAnKs,

| Hi Ando,
Check out Technet Article Q260301. It has to do with using GPO's to deploy SP1 for Windows 2000. You may be able to use this information to deploy SP2 in a similar way.
Here is the link

Hope this Helps. | |

| I am in a similiar situation here. I have Windows 2K on my system, and I want to install SP2. How do I do that? I tried double clicking on the file, but nothing comes up. How do you install a service pack?
I would appreciate your help...
Thanks,

Hello Gareth,
I have already downloaded that from Microsoft's website, (about 101 MB). The problem is when I double click, nothing happens, a dos window appears and then it dissapears again. My question is:
How do you deploy-install SP2 ?
Thanks,
