Today I was helping a customer on the phone.
We use a program that requires you to hit the "end" key to exit certian windows. Well I was telling the customer to hit the end key to exit and she says that it isnt doing anything.... Since me and her have a good
relationship as customer/service. I challenged her. I am coming over there to your office and if you push the end key and it doesnt exit you out of the program, LUNCH is on ME.

Well she was pushing the "N" key!

Customers are always right, she enjoyed lunch at Mcdonalds.

I work at a helpdesk and I could give you tons of these stories.. but one of the more recent ones is.. I was helping a "Work at Home" customer and she was having a problem dialing in.. some trouble with her modem, I asked her to plug her modem's phone cord and plug it back in.. but she plugged her telephone's cord and got disconnected with me..

I once said to a lady, Are you using Windows NT or Windows 95? She replied, "I'm using Word 97."

I still like Groth's tale of the folded floppies.

I was troubleshooting a problem that a user was having with his PC (forget what the prob was), and asked if he was using Windows. "No," he replied, "I'm on AOL."

OK, here's one happen last week.

A new part time secretary came into the office early in the morning. After a while, she came to me and said "Gareth, the computer has something wrong and I cannot turn it on." I went with her to her room to see what's happening.

I went in, saw the monitor with the montor setting screen turned on and the computer was off. She continue, "I've pushed the button and nothing's happen!" While she was saying, she pushed the monitor setting button right in the middle of the monitor to show me what she did and keep saying "there must be something wrong!"

That sounds about right we've all experienced those things, but I think the funniest thing is when you're talking a customer through and they don't understand they ask there kid to do it are even put them on the phone and you realize they're like 8!

It's usually easier to explain stuff to the kid though
