| Has anyone worked for Compaq, our It department was outsourced to them. We all have to reapply for our jobs. | |

| That's standard practice within the IT arena, I have a mate who works for Compaq here in the UK as a contractor...even they had to re-apply when Compaq bought out Digital.
I wouldn't worry too much they look after there staff well  ...thats assuming there not going to cut the staff back of course  | |

| As a matter of fact they are cutting back, 10 or 13 out of twenty will have jobs. Lucky for me I spiced the coffee with poppy seeds. | |

| I work for Compaq in Atlanta and have been with them for 8 months. I honestly can say that they are by far better than most I.T companies and treat their staff exceptionally well.You really do not have to worry about being absorbed by them. I know people here who were absorbed when they took over Digital and they are still here,some with 18 years behind them and no intentions of leaving. Compaq have completed their staff thinning out as at end of May 2001 and are holding on to existing staff for dear life.
So feel relaxed about the move and welcome to the team ! |
