| Sometimes the site gets very busy. Remember that the forum and the rest of the site is based on the database, so when there are too many clients using the database simultaneously, it can get slow.
Today I have seen over 300 visitors on the site (counting members and guests)
There sill be some times when the site is slow, but normally the server handles the current load pretty well. I am already using the php caching engine and the data is stored on a dedicated hard drive, and most large images has been moved to the image server.
I will watch the server performance closely to see if there is anything else I can do to improve the response time.
Remember that it only gets slow during the peak hours. | |

| Not that much . . . the main forums he frequented were the A+ and Network+, in those it may account for some, but not for the Cisco and MCSE fora. Maybe we were just having a slow day. | |

| Yesterday was probably much slower from the West Coast activity since it appeared that everyone went to Figueroa St. to watch that darn Lakers parade! Boy do I wish the Sixers could have gotten just one more game. Anyhow, it was just an observation from the Left Coast. | |

| I don't think there were any blackouts yesterday, but they were threatening, and it was hotter than Heck in No Cal. Rush hour was nonexistant. Did I miss a holiday? | |

I don't think a slow day yesterday really would have had too much to do with SomeGuy. He's been gone for a week or two now, and as Randy said he only really frequented the A+ and Net+ forums.
I think its the same with any business, there are busy days and there are slow days.
Incidentally, while the postings were slow yesterday we gained a whole slew of new members - so in that respect it was a busy day. |
