what is a .php file

all I could find was

.ph Optimized .goh file (Geoworks)
.ph Perl header file
.ph Phrase-table (MS C/C++)
.phn Phone list (UltraFax - QmodemPro)
.pho Phone database (Metz Phone for Windows)
.phr Phrases (LocoScript)

nothing on .php

I think PHP stands for personal home page.

This is a scripting language for creating web sites, similar to ASP, but totally free and open source.
