Umm.. this has always been a great place to get some feedback and a second opinion... so here goes...

I recently became A+ certified and got a job as a help desk tech. My job has asked me to evaluate, research, and recommend a help desk software package for our company.
We have 180 users.... What is the best help desk software package out there?
Any suggestions?
THANKS IN ADVANCE...

We use Peregrine, it takes a lot of configuration but it works really well. The only time we ever had a problem with it is when the server broke. It can turn out some really useful reports and can be used to keep track of the entire organization with no trouble.

I've used track-it. It's much more than help desk software, but you can get 30,000 solutions with it.

Randy...

we do basic hardware, software support...
nothing too heavy... as a matter of fact IAM THE ENTIRE HELP DESK DEPT right now...
so im a bit overwhelmed.... we're just building up the IT department.
THey want software that can keep track of software down to the nitty gritty, invoices, warranties, vendors, and also allow users to report problems via the web and email and be able to log estimated repair time/date assigned/ etc....

ive been hearing good things about TRACK-IT...

loving all the feedback... keep it coming guys

I have to say Remedy is the best. It's user friendly and has tons of functions. 2nd would be Heat which is also good.

I have used Remedy before. It is easy to use and efficient, helps with getting requests out fast and with organising them.

We use Vantive.. it's high customizable, attachment-capable, link cases, audit history, notes, checklist, etc..
But hopefully you won't have to fill all those tabs out
