| New nForce chipset -- What do you think?

I read this article today, and I got quite excited. I was planning a mobo/proc upgrade this summer, but now I may wait until fall. What do you guys think?

| Looks very nice. There will always be something good just around the corner, so I wouldn't suggest waiting for this. | |

| Yeah, but part of me wants to upgrade and be done with it. I am currently running a K6-2 450 mhz proc on a Gigabyte Super Socket 7 motherboard (the GA-5AX, which is a POS, btw). I figured it was about time to go to an Athlon system with DDR, and I was going to get the Asus A7A266 or the A7M266 (if I could find it). The problem is that I really wasn't very enthused about either of these boards. The A7A266 is based on ALI's chipset--the same bastards who made my current Socket 7! I spent a nightmarish amount of time trying to get it to work properly 2 years ago, and it has permanently scarred my psyche and biased me against ALI forever. The A7M266 is based on AMD's 760, which is supposed to be very good--except that you can't find it half the time, and when you do it is horribly expensive.
Now I hear about what could conceivably be a revolutionary chipset, and I only have to wait an extra month or two for it. I would be kinda PO'd if the nForce gave uber-performance and I settled on a cruddy board.
I am inclined to wait, but I would like some knowledgable opinions on the matter.

| MadMalachi, I just built an A7A266 Asus system (the first PC that I built BTW). I haven't had a single problem with it so far.
