i am trying to audit a users access and use of a particular file. But i cannot find where the log report details the audit. I looked in Security log in event viewer but that only had logon/logoff events. I think I have set up auditing correctly, I right clicked the file, slected properties, then security tab, auditing. I then added the user to audit, and ticked the events I want to audit and clicked OK until I was back to the desktop.

Please help, I have been trawling through Microsofts website and did not find it particulary helpful and they also charge for telephone support now!

Thanks for any help.

Thats where the info is stored.I will assuming this event is taking place on the box that your ploicy is set on. Audit ploicy is set on a computer to computer basis. If this is correct I would retrace my steps and/or re-set the policy.
