| I'm shooting in the dark here but I remember reading something about if you do not hide or turn off the track changes someone can view them. I'm recreating my resume and don't want people sneaking a peak at the errors. | |

| Bernie,
I am also shooting in the dark -- but I didn't want your message to go unanswered. For future reference through Office type questions in the MOUS forum. Those guys are studying for the Word tests...
Knowledge Article #Q211209: States that if you use Allow Fast Saves then the deletions you made can be viewed in a program other than word -- such as notepad.
In Word Help I found this statement by searching for 'tracking':
View revision marks for tracked changes. Point to Track Changes on the Tools menu, click Highlight Changes, and then select the Highlight changes on screen check box. You can also hide revision marks in a printed document and accept or reject revision marks in a document you plan to distribute online.
Now, I played with the tracking options and unless I stated -- Track changes while typing -- no tracking was enabled even to removed and changed text. However, if I had two versions of a document I could always compare them.
I remember reading a while ago that virus maniacs were caught because of the information that was automatically placed in a document. Maybe that is the article you read?
Here is my recommendation: Don't worry, people don't care!!! But just to relieve your conscience, after you complete the resume, copy all the information and paste it into a new document. Save that document and forward it. That way there is no information for anyone to view. That is what the knowledge base articles says about the viewing deleted... And don't use the fast save option, if you want to be extra extra extra careful...
Hope this helps... AND, thank you -- because I re-learned a lot about the tracking and learned even more about enabling Outlook to track changes. Cool stuff!!!
Good Luck!
