I am taking the MCSE Windows 2000 course and I want to install the eval copy of Windows 2000. I tried to partion my 20 gig hard drive using partition magic and it hung. I called Dell and had to debug in order to get to use my hard drive again. I had to put mill, back on. I am going to re partion and dump the Mill and put 2000 on, any one have the debug code for when this fails again. What are the partion sizes for duel operating systems, or can you have Mill and 2000 on the same machine?

Ive never dual booted with Mill...

But with everything else its not a problem. First make sure you have at least a gig available for the 2K installation (MS recommends 2). Put your CD in. It will ask you if you want to upgrade. Say NO and choose New/fresh installation. Then it goes through its set up process. It will ask you where you want to install. Again their needs to be unpartioned space so you can create a partion for the 2K operating system. Create the partition and make sure thats where you choose to install. Then decide how you want to format it (FAT/NTFS) and away you go....

As far as any of your other issues I really cant give much of answer. Im not familiar with Mill and am not intending to be either.(Although a friend just got a box with it installed..didnt have it a day and had problems..so I guess i will get to know it a little!)

If you can get drivers for 2000 Do yourself a favor and spend the $200 for an awesome, stable powerhouse of an OS.
