hsp56 micromodem under dual boot win98/win2k

| Hi all,
Ive been reading this site now for several months, and i find the content is excellent in prep for exams. Its great to see people out there willing to help others and pass on there knowledge.
Anyway ive just installed a clean dual boot of win98 and win2k, everything is working fine except one annoying thing that i cant seem to sort out.
If i boot into win2k everthing is ok, no probs in device manager, runs great.
If i boot into win98, as the desktop loads, i keep getting an annoying message from the hsp56 mircomodem saying 'Are you still in the UK', Ive checked the config for the modem and it is set to UK, there is no conflicts in device manager either under modem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

| Ive experienced the exact same thing in a dual boot machine. To add a twist I only get that message when a specific user logs in. Its strange.
I ended up putting a 3com modem in that box. Are you using a Hsp56 Micro? If so where did you get the drivers for Win 2K for it?
I shot a email off to PCtel maybe they will have some insight into this annoyance. | |

Well.... I did have a CD with the drivers on for both win98 and win2k that came with the sys board... but.... the driver for win2k was causing a problem in device manager, so i got the driver from www.driverzone.com, downloaded 3 different drivers and tried them all eventually one went in and it works great.
Like i say no problems at all with the dual boot, just that annoying message when booting win98
