How much Time a Day

| Just curious about how much time you guys spend a day studying. I mean with Jobs, Family's and stuff. Thanks | |

| I spend about 1 to 2 hours a day. I usually read two to three cert books on the test I'm studying for, then reread the material I'm not sure about. I take as many practice exams as possible. Then when I am close to exam time, I usually start spending about 2.5 to 3.5 hours a day for the last week or so.
If I really hammered the books I could probably finish a test every month or two, but I take a break here and there.
I'm also single, so I have a lot flexible time. I don't work a lot of overtime, so that doesn't get in the way. | |

| I'm a single parent and I have a very long day. I try to study 4-5 days a week in the evenings for an hour. I also try to study at work at lunch time and on the subway to and from work.
When I think I'm ready to take the exam. I take a break for a week. Then I take practice tests, and then brush up on the areas that I'm weak on.
To help "see" what I've done and have to do, I make a table up in Word. I put the dates, day of the week, and comments column. As follows:
2/16 Friday
2/17 Saturday
In the comments I put what I studied and for how long. The days I don't study I hi-lite Red. 1/2 hour to 59 minutes yellow, and 1 hour or more green.
I've also been know to make flash cards, keep a notebook handy, and anything else to use if I have a minute here and there. After all, the more exposure the quicker you learn.

| Well lets see now,how much time studying? hmmmm, having 5 children (ages 1 year to 11 years 3 girls two boys) and another one the way April 11
I guess I spend to much time having sex! 
I actually try and study from 9:00am to 5:00pm but it never works out that way, mornings are spent having looky loos at posts, answering emails, checking out my workopolis.com postings.
Then on to my studies, in all reality I spend probably 6 hours per day with a combination of cbts, labs which are challenging (especially if you don`t know what you are doing  and practice exams and of course reading my books.
In between that time of getting distracted with my kids and wife who is pregnant and moody...all in all I`m doing pretty good all things considered!
Would really love to have a virtual instructor, which would be the coolest thing to have!!

| 1 to 2 hours a day does it, but I don't count time. I do one or two sample tests each day (from two to three vendors), and track the results. After an initial run through the tests, ech day I repeat the one or two that I've got the lowest scores on. This continues until I have 90% on every test. Then I schedule the test for a week later, and continue self-testing with 95% as the goal before test day.
For example, right now I'm studying for CCDA, using Todd Lammle's CCDA book (Sybex) with twelve tests (12 topics); Bruno's CCDA Guide (Cisco) with 30 topics grouped into six tests; and www.boson.com's CCDA sample tests (4 tests).
Of course, I also read Lammle's book cover-to-cover, I'm half-way through Bruno, and I download all the examnotes, brainbuzz, etc. stuff I can find.
Yep, about 1 - 2 hours a day, and maybe 2 - 3 hours each on the last week before a test.
P.S. I've got a wife & two kids, church duties, and moonlight on a part-time job, too. Can't ignore them, of course. So computer study must become an enjoyable hobby, or I'd go nuts. | |

| I usually study 3-4 hours a day but this week I have been lucky I am working a mid shift (12 hours)was able to study about 6-7 hours a day for the past 5 days. I just took my mid terms so no homework yet.
I reread my CNA study book twice and pounded my way through Exam Essentials. My goal is 95% or higher, currently I am hitting 89 out of 100 q's correct out of all areas. I also play around with Novell Admistrator on our LAN in between my practice tests. I plan to average a test every 6 weeks. My goal this year is CNE.
Thank God I have an understanding wife or this would not be possible. She is one of the few who understands that all this work will pay off in the future. |
