Hard Disk Problem with M.E.

| I have 2 seperate Harddrives and am running Win ME. The BIOS and M.E. pickup both Harddrives but a drive letter isnt allocate to the 2nd drive (should be "D") Tried:System/properties but the change letter area is greyed out. Tried:removing Drive (via ME) but just adds it in again. Tried: Disconnecting drive and running ME then reconnecting (to see if it will pick up new hardware) but no joy.
Worst thing is before i reloaded ME the drive was there and active.
Any help greatly appreciated.

| I would say try and change the drive letter in safe mode and try and see what happens if you try and Map Network Drive. Does it say D is available to map? Does it map to other letters? Also try disabling it in your bios and rebooting and checking if D is available and then re-enable etc. The fact that it is greyed out is the disturbing part. | |

| ME <-- there's your problem | |
|
| In the worst case.
Reformat,
Reinstall ME with 1 HD,
then try 2 HD, (BIOS shall auto pickup)
If ME don't pick up, try on other PC.
Sometime is the compatible of the brand.
Did u search your problem on the MS net | |

| You and everyone else who run into this type of problem should look into Partition Magic. |
