I graduated with BS/Information Systems in 11/2000 fron the University of Phoenix. I am not sure what to do with this degree-it seems worthless. Most of the jobs I applied for (assistant systems adm or assistant network adm and PC tech), I have received very very few offers. Perhaps things will turn around when I get a certification in A+ and MCSE. In the mean time, what can I do, where can I go with a BS/IS.
Thanks.

Your A+ will help you in the begining until you get the experience you need.
As for a job you can try the local computer repair shops till you get about 6 months to a year of on the job experience.
Also temp agencies is a good place you can try Adeco, Manpower Professional, Teksystems, and Westaff

I don`t believe anyone should get out of college expecting anything more than an entry level position, which it looks like that is what you are applying for.
Keep on trying and the right job will come along.
If when you get the job you work your a** off, go beyond the call of duty and show that you can think on your own under pressure and work with a team you will move up quickly.
The hard part as you are finding out is getting that opportunity to prove yourself.
Keep submitting those resumes and working on your certifications and good things will happen.
Also offer your services to any small firms
in exchange for refferences.
I installed small networks in some small insurance offices and other similar small offices and listed them on my resume as
"Freelance Network Consulting"
* Common wealth insurance company
job :Network design and emplementation
*Monticello Jewelry exchange
job :designed client/server Domain network with application servers.
I did these things for free in exchange for
references.
These are some things I did.

This may be a little off topic, but what did you think about the Univeristy of Phoenix? How long did it take you to finish your degree? Did you go to another school before you transfered here?

Thanks!
