Anybody know how I would go about getting security clearance from the government?

You have to be working for a government agency or a company working on a government contract that requires you have a clearance. One of these organizations would sponsor you for the clearance, as well as pay fot it, since it costs in the neighborhood of $10k for a clearance.

There is an alternative to working for a company that does government contracting that can get you a clearance - join the military and you will get a security clearance. Been there done that got the t-shirt
