| Hi,
Does anyone know any links that can explain to me the differences between Primary and Active Directory Integrated DNS zones for windows 2000 server? I know that AD integrated zones allow Secure Dynamic Updates, but I'm still not sure about how to replicate DNS information to a backup DNS AD integrated zone server ?
Is it possable to set up a secondary DNS zone for an AD integrated zone ? | |

| Its been awhile but I think I remember how this works so let me know if I'm wrong. With Integrated Zones there really isnt a need for a dedicated secondary server since AD replicates the info to all the domain controllers. If you want to create another zone you can do it thru the dns area of 2000. If fault tolerance is what you are looking for I guess as long as there is another DC on the network the dns namespace is safe because the dns info is replicated in AD. Therefore if your dns server went down another dc could take over and provide the info.
Check out this link . This is a short explanation but it will get you going in the right direction.
