Good morning all,

I've developed an application using VB and MS Access which is a multi user database. Now this application resides on our citrix server and is accessible to anyone who has a session turned on. The application works fine through a regular citrix session. My problem is when our off site users try to dial in over the VPN the application doesn't work for them. It gives some error to the user logging in, but it works if the user logging in is an administrator. All of the CIS guys can get into this application because they are admin, note this is over VPN. Now if a regular "dummy" user tries to get into the application over VPN it doesnt work. I know this has to do with security and such, but our VPN is setup so that its only looking for the correct username and password everyone has read write permissions. What else can I look at? Anyone ever experience anything like this?
Thanks for the replies.

Good afternoon

When you tried logging in to the VPN with an admin account were you on a slow connection like the VPN users most likely would be?

Log in over the VPN with a non-admin user's VPN account and see if you're able to connect to whatever sockets the application uses. That should help to narrow down what the problem is.

Like I said ... it works for admin. Of course its slow remember this is vpn =). As for users logging in like I said users cannot for some reason I get a "Access Error" forgot exact error but this happens anytime its a regular user. If I add the user to an admin group than it works fine...but I dont wanna add the users to an admin group. Thanks

P.S the error is a "reserved access" error, and like I said this only comes up with non - admins. seems like security but no where to look.
