I had to edit my my message, I had originally asked about what would get me an MCP cert, I found my answer to that question. But does it matter which exam I take. I heard the 70-210 will work. But will the 70-240 work? thanks in advance.

Requirements for MCP
Microsoft® Certified Professional (MCP) candidates are required to pass one current Microsoft certification exam that provides a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise (a current exam is any that has not been retired). MCP exams are developed with the input of professionals in the industry and reflect how Microsoft products are used in organizations throughout the world. The exams are administered by Prometric and Virtual University Enterprises, independent testing organizations with locations worldwide.

Please note that Exam 70-058: Networking Essentials and Exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 are exceptions to the one exam requirement. Passing either of these exams alone will not certify an individual as an MCP.

sorry for all the extra post, still a sleep. Thx for the information, I have seen that info before but didnt see that it said the 70-240 exam was one that didnt count.

The reason I had asked about the 70-240 exam was, I had an interest to get into the microsoft exams a while back, and decided to goto back to college and get a degree in computer science instead, but before that I had purchased a couple of sybex books one of them being the Accelerated Windows 2000 study guide, for the 70-240 exam. I suppose I can still use the book now that I can use the experience from school as well.

For your information, the accelerated exam (70-240) is only offered to those who have passed all three Windows NT 4 exams. And it will be available only until 31 December 2001. You'll also need to order the voucher before 1 November 2001.
