| If you look at it from an economic point of view, Zone Alarm is free, Black Ice costs about 30 bucks. My money is on Zone Alarm. I have the professional version, it works very well. It is easy to configure and provides a high level of protection. The free version will protect any home user adequately. | |

| I prefer Blackice because of its ability to block certain ports ie 138,139 (Netbios)
I find it less instrusive.
Zone alarm blocks certain active directory info from replicating.
