| I have recently took the "New" A+ Core Module Exam at a local testing center and have to say that after reading a highly recommended A+ Study book 7 times and studying for at least one hour everyday for 9 straight weeks, I failed. The new exam touched on 4 to 6 questions that I reviewed, studied, or saw on online courses and the rest must have come from outerspace. I thought the exam was hard...and honestly don't know where to begin reviewing to throw $125.00 away again? | |

| I'm very suprised to hear that, because the testing format has changed, but to the best of my knowledge they are still using the 2000 objective database.
Well, now you know what to expect and will pass with flying colours next time. | |

| I had THE book for A+, not to mention 4 weeks of study (2+hrs a day) and only 4 questions came up that had any relevance to what was in the book or in the countless practice exams/brain dumps/crams that I went through. I did well on the test, but was very surprised, and a bit disappointed. | |

| What do you remember about the exam? It would help those of us who are studying for it now.
thanks. | |

| I remember there were quite a few Dot Matrix printer questions (3-4), no IRQ questions at all, only a couple questions on Laser Printers..Quite a few about Win 95...the first 5 OS questions were on Win2k...that's all I really remember. But remember, it's adaptive so there are thousands of questions that can come up. Good Luck!! | |

| Thanks very much for that info. Every little bit helps. I wish you good luck on your next try. You're bound to do a lot better just having been there and seeing, experiencing how it is. Other people have said there's a lot of identification of parts of the motherboard and ports, with very bad drawings-- hard to read, see.. Did that happen in your exam? | |

| Nope..Last Friday was the first and only time I've taken the Core or OS. I passed both first time...I had no visuals at all on mine. Basically if you know/study the basics of components and know "theory" behind what they do and don't do, you should do fine. | |

| Sorry about the confusion, my confusion. Got you mixed up with someone else. I apologize. Thanks for all the info. It helps so much to hear from those who have been there. | |

That's typical. Have a whole bunch of questions on something as obsolete as dot matrix printers.
I'm glad I got it done under the old objectives. |
