| I have just downloaded and began using the Opera browser at www.opera.com and I find it a big improvement over IE and Netscape. It's certainly a lot faster. I recall some people having security concerns over it some time ago. Does anyone know anything about this? | |

I downloaded Opera at work today to mess around with it and to see it was compliant with our digital certificates and all that junk. Everything looked fine in that regard. The one thing that I noted ( i got the download from www.cnet.com) was some of the users reviews. I read one that said it was laden with spyware. This concerned me. I didnt see any unusual things on my computer but I have only used it for a few hours, and spent all the time on my companies website testing it. I know I dont really have an answer to your question, but maybe it would be beneficail to read the userts comments at Cnet. you can sort by "only negative comments" and see what they have to say. But for all we know, these guys are from Microsoft and Netscape just trying to steer people away from it. HAHA.
You're right though, it is a heck of alot faster than the big 2 ( especially NS 6- Yuck!) | |

| Looks like I am one ahead of you, Lag . . . the place where I HEARD these rumours was at CNET!!! I was looking at the reviews and I saw a few about it being spyware that I didn't care for much. I have been using it for a while and I love it so far. I was trying to get some idea of what other sorts of software was out there besides MS and Netscape, and decided to try it. Anyway, thanks for the response. | |

I have used Opera ever since just about the beginning, and stopped when they didn't support JavaScript. Never had a bad thing to say about it otherwise...
