should i get the +I to my MCSE anyways?

| I know MS wont be continuing it, but since almost all of the 3 extra elective courses can be used towards my MCSE 2k Cert why not right?
Exchange 5.5 is still a valid win2k elective, IEAK5 is sitll a valide win2k and so is Proxy2, which would also get me my +I designation and be half way through my win2k cert.
Yes i know Exchange 2000 will replace Exchange 5.5 and that ISA will replace Proxy, but for right now it fits, dont you think? Or should i forget about it?
I could do with the Proxy2 and exchange certs, more than likely will never use ieak5 though.
Waste of time or somthing to consider??

| okay
how about anyone here who is a MCSE+I, do you feel your +I gave you an added benefit over the others who wernt?
Did others know the signifigance of the +I compared to the regular MCSE designation?

Depends on what your job or your interest. I'm a webmaster therefore, the MCSE+I is better for me than MCSE.

| Hi
Most statistics show that MCSE + I increases salary. I went that route since the electives where still valid. Might be an idea and add CCNA to your list instead - Broader Knowledge always helps.
It really depends on what you want to do?

| I got my MCSE+I last year. I was asking myself the same question, if I should go for it.
I did and passed proxy 2.0 and IEAK5 as well as IIS4.
These were not easy tests especially IEAK5. You said you were going to take Exchange 5.5 Of all the MS tests I have taken (10) the most difficult was Exchange 5.5
My advice is don't bother. The +I is going away at the end of the year.
Don't get me wrong, I am very proud of the fact that I am in a rather elite group (only 11,000 or so MCSE+I's as compared to 225,000 or so MCSE's) but I know of only a few people who know what the thing is. It has not affected my salary in any way.
If you only had one test left then I would say go for it but at this point I think you should look to the future and concentrate on MCSE2000. MCSE+I is dead and in a year you won't find anyone who remembers what |
