Help Desk Question
| I am currently taking classes to get my Win2K MCSE and am fairly new (6mos-1yr) to the IT industry. I have the N+ and have taken the core part of the A+(taking the DosWin next week). I have been offered a position with Sony in a customer help desk position. The pay isnt great but they will pay for my classes. My main concern is will this be a positive on my resume when I have completed my classes and start looking for a better job? Will this be my "foot in the door" that everyone talks about? It seems from reading the posts here that help desk seems to be a good starting point but I wanted to get some more input.
Thanks in advance.

| I would say yes on your part, take the job to get the experience and beable to have that on your resume. The help desk is a good place to start, I'm kinda in the same boat and debating on a simalar job.

| Hey Guys Go for it. I have been doing this for 5 years and the help desk is the best place to start. You will hear everything. From the guy that thinks its a cup holder to the guy that just formatted his harddrive and can't get on the internet now. Don't Worry about the money now just get your foot in the door and get the rest of your certs. Get in and get a few years and then move on to bigger and better. You may even be able to work your way out of the help desk and into networking.
