You only have to complete your optionals by the end of the year if they are retiring optionals. Unfortunately, TCP/IP and IIS are retiring optionals, so they would need to be completed by December 31.
TCP/IP seems to be really in demand, so it would be a good choice. The options you pick are really dependant on what you want to do with your certification. You should check out the job sites, and see what employers are looking for, for the job that you want to do.
I have heard that TCP/IP is a difficult exam, and that IIS is not easy, but its not as difficult as TCP/IP.
Remember though that these two optionals are retiring, so they will need to be upgraded by Dec 31, 2001. If you take these 2 optionals, in order to upgrade to Windows 2000, you will need to take the 70-240 upgrade exam, one additional core exam, and 2 new optional exams.
If you take two NT4 optionals that are not retiring, you will only need to take the 70-240 upgrade exam, and one additional core exam in order to get your 2000 MCSE.
