How many exams do I need to be MCSE?
When this year all certifications will be discarded?

Ok first of all you kinda have two options if you haven't started MCSE yet. You start with the NT4 track and once you have taken the core ones you can pass the Accelerated Exam. That Accelerated exam include 4 of the cores required for the Win2k Track. Please take care tho, You can only take that Accelerated exam once. If you fail you basically have to start MCSE for Win2k from scratch.

Now, the numbers of exams for becomming an MCSE are:

NT 4 Track: 4 Cores (There is one of the core where you can pick between three) and 2 Electives from a long long list .

Windows 2000 Track: 4 Cores (or the Accelerated exam), 1 Core (between a choice of three) and 2 Electives (between a choice of five).

Heck .. that is a long URL . There is also a link above the requirement table that will show you the requirements for the NT4 track. Hope this helps.

Hi again. Just to make sure that you know that the NT4 exams will retire in December 2000 and that the Accelerated Exam to migrate to WIndows 2000 will not be available after December 2001. You have basically over 5 months to complete the MCSE NT4 track. You still have time but you might want to work a little harder. Good luck
