Easier task for Winsock API, VB or C++?

| In case you are taking X-mas shopping break, could you help to give me some advice?
Which one you think would be an easier task to write a Winsock client/server API application, using VB or C++? It doesn’t have to be a fancy program, just a simple, deliverable one.
I am a little far behind on this assignment. Any suggestion/recommendation would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

VB definitly easier than C++ !

| Thanks, I think so.
But our group said it would be easier & more references available in c++ on server side than vb and they insist doing that. Anyway,
