Paisleyskye,

I just spent the better part of the last hour reading all the post on the closed thread concerning the article you wrote on Pirated Software. No, I am not trying to start that thread up again. I just wanted to give you some encouraging words.

Writing articles for popular subjects is always easy, it is the tough subjects that make you a better person. I like yourself once wrote an article for a professional journal, it was a volunteer thing, no pay. Thinking I was adding to my professional growth. Well, you thought I had offended the Pope. I got hate mail (this was before e-mail), phone calls from all sorts of people, they challenged my integrity, my morality, my intelligence, etc. The journal publisher stood by me, as I was able to show to her I had done the research and I had the right facts. I was the main topic for the letters to the editor for four months afterward. But, the one thing that made it worth it was when I had a job interview several months later, I was surprised to see the article come up again. Thinking here it comes, only this time, I got the job, and the one thing that helped the most was they said was they were impressed how I handled myself in the many attacks I had on the article and they want someone like that on their team. So there was a happy ending.

So stick to your guns. Do the hard ones, you will grow. And may you have a happy ending to your story too.

And always remember it is harder to be the playwriter than the critic. Anyone can be a critic. (As we have seen)

Aim High!

Freddy Flyer:

Thank you for the encouragement. It is much appreciated, especially coming from someone who has been on the receiving end too.

I do hope that my story has a happy ending, just as yours did.
