2000-11-03, 2:23 am

hello people,

I have finished MCSE , thanx to the people at SYBEX and Examnotes.net
I work as a teaching Faculty .
My boss insistes on me doing MCT,
my questions are:-
.Whats my Scope after doing this.. like what would be my area of JOB. apart from class room teaching whic I am already into.

.How do I go about it. can Anyone please give me information.

. Is MCT restricted to one area of certificatiobns.. like say WINDOWS NT or TCP IP .. or is it the whole MCSE that will be covered,

Any help and advices will be appreciated.
thank you
Killer

Start here: http://www.microsoft.com/trainingan...ubSite=cert/mct

My uderstanding is that you will be able to teach and train people pursuing their MCSE.

They changed their MCT requirements this year so that you have to be an MCSE before you can be a MCT.

Good Luck:-)

Actually, not to be picky but you don't have to be an MCSE. You can be either MCSE, MCSD, or MCDBA, as long as you hold one of those premier certifications.

This may sound like a minor point, but when I consider development classes, I would not even think about being trained by somebody who is not MCSD. Going through Microsoft's training referral site, it sickens me how few training providers have MCSD's on staff. Just had to get that off my chest

Hope you got some money and sponsorships. It will run about around $1,000 US. You need a Microsoft approved train-the-trainer course ($800 US) and ($200 US) to apply for the MCT. You also need hands on with the course you are going to teach, plus being certified (MCP) in that course. There are also continuing education requirements.

Good Luck,

Close, but not quite:

Currently: You must be an MCP, attend an approved "Train-the-trainer" course ($350 at my CTEC), and submit an application to Microshaft. Unless you work for, or can be sponsored by a CTEC, there is a $200 application (country club) fee. Additionally, you must pass the MCP exam and submit a course prep checklist associated with the class you wish to teach. There are no current continuing education requirements.

THIS IS CHANGING DRASTICALLY FOR 2001! Microshaft has not yet posted the final requirements, but effective Jan 1 you will:

- have to be an MCSE, MCSD or MCDBA
- Pay an annual country club fee (estimated at about $1,000 annually
- Participate in a currently unspecified Continuing Education Requirement
- You will no longer need to pass any specific exam to teach any MOC class (interesting)

Keep an eye on www.microsoft.com\mct for the latest...
