| Hello;
Does anyone know if a Pentium 133 can be upgraded to a Pentium 200 ??
If so, about how much would it cost.
Thanks | |

| First of all, what kind of motherboard do you have? Processor upgrades are based on what the motherboard can support (screw all that overclocking BS). Check you motherboard/system's documentation to see or go the manufacturer's web site.
You can buy overdrive-type devices that will "boost" the clock speed of your computer, but I don't recommend them.
I recommend if you are trying to get a little more speed is to upgrade you memory first. Depending on what you plan to use the computer for, even a boost to a Pentium 200MHz chip would not be considered a great increase by today's standards.
I took an old Packard Bell with 150MHz and upgraded the memory to 80MB, added an 8GB hard drive, replaced the 33.6 modem with a 56K, added a new CD-ROM, and added a new sound card. I basically use it as a test machine so it is not needed for any intense work.
