| The H1B article is a good one. Companies are paying higher salaries and most H1 B visa holders will tell you that they work for only a 10% lesser salary than their American counterparts.
The new law is aimed at reducing time between transfers. Also, it will bring in more people from China, Philippines and India. But, it is good in the sense, this is the very spirit of America. Ellis Island is going to happen all over again, and it will be good.
Think of the taxes that these guys pay and keeps American software competetive in the global arena.

| Yeah, and one of those guys will be paying taxes at a job that maybe you or a friend could have had! That Ok with you? Or are you trying to get in yourself?
Throwing open the gates at Ellis Island is a great way to start a country, but thats not what we need now! And if all the posts from educated/certified citizens who are having difficulty breaking into the IT field are any indication, there is no supply crisis of qualified Americans.
An influx of immigrants willing to work much cheaper will do nothing but make it even harder to get into the IT industry, and degrade the payscale and benefits offered.
Don't open the door, I say slam it shut! call that protectionism, paranoia, whatever, thats my story and I'm stickin to it! | |

| The IT professional that having trouble braking into the IT industry are just entry level people with A+ certification and no experienced.
H1 visas are issued to programmers mostly. There is a shortage of good programmers, it's impossible to find enough qualified people in America. Sure, there are many great programmers here, but just not enough for booming IT sector of economy.
H1 visas are not for entry level positions. People are usually required to have master's degree to be qualified.
