| Hi,
I have been programming in Foxpro for the past 20 years. I currently develop a loan servicing system which will require me to get more involved with web development as well as Client Server development. In addition to that, my company was just taken over by a new owner, so I want to enhance my marketability. I've decided to go for the MCSD. My question is whether I should go the C# route, or the VB route. I have had relatively little exposure to both so I realize I have a bit of a learning curve, although I imagine VB is very similar to Visual Foxpro. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

| If you don't have a lot of background, WinBatch is a way to start.
http://www.winbatch.com/
You can translate your experience after WinBatch to C++. That's what I found. | |

| Go with C# . . . it's paltform independent. VB.NET can only be used on MS Windows | |

| I don't think c# is more platform independent than VB.NET. The whole purpose of .NET initiative is to make these languages as platform independent as possible. As of now all thes .NET languages work only in WINDOWS. c# does not run without NET CLR period. | |

| I would go with C#...highest paid and it's the demand in the market right now. | |
