Exam 70-240 Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft® Windows NT® 4.0
Until December 31, 2001, individuals who have passed the three Windows NT 4.0 exams have the option of fulfilling part of the core exam requirement by passing Exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000 Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 instead of four of the core exams in the Windows 2000 track. As a benefit to MCPs, Microsoft is offering the accelerated exam free to eligible candidates. To protect exam integrity, eligible candidates will be able to take the accelerated exam by voucher one time only. There is a rumor circulating that all four modules on the accelerated exam
are compiled together to determine your final score and whether you pass or
fail. DO NOT COUNT ON THIS!!! I know of one person who failed the accelerated
exam, and went in to write each of the exams separately the next day. He scored
over 90% on the first three, and failed the fourth. From that scenario, we
should realize that even though the four modules are compiled together in one
exam, they are not marked as one large unit, but separately. Make sure you know
the material from each module before you write this exam! It would be a shame to
spend 355 minutes writing an exam and fail because you didn’t spend enough
time reviewing one section - not to mention the fact that an error like this
would be a very costly mistake to make.
